Next time you are in your local electronics store to purchase replacement ink cartridges for your printer as the employee working in the computer printer area what the number one complaint they hear on a consistent basis and I can almost guarantee you that they will say more people complain about the price of the ink cartridges for their printer than everything else combined!

During a recent visit to my local big box electronics retailer I noticed that when I was buying my own replacement ink cartridges that the cost of the two replacement cartridges that I was buying was only $15.00 less than the cost of the printer I was going to put them in. This seemed ridiculous to me and I asked a product rep from one of the biggest printer manufacturers who happened to be in the store that day why this was the case and she told me flat out that the sale price on some of the low end basic printers is reduced to entice customers to purchase them and then to buy more accessories such as ink, paper and usb cables. The accessories is where the manufacturer and retailer make all of their profit margins from.

I was initially pretty upset by this information but after a few minutes I came to realize that printer companies and retail stores are in the business to make money and not to give everything away. I am okay with that as making money is the end goal for every business but I was determined to find a way to lessen the impact that purchasing replacement ink cartridges has on my wallet. I set out on a mission to find an ink coupon that would at least save me a few bucks each time I had to buy ink. On this mission I was surprised at what I found and I am going to share it all with you.

Finding the Right Ink Coupon

With the hundreds of different printers that use different ink cartridges it can be a challenge just to find the right ink cartridge, let alone the right ink coupon. After some research we have found that there are two main ways that you can save money when using an ink coupon. The first method you can use to find an ink coupon is to go directly to the manufacturers website and sign up for any rewards program or preferred customer program. In many cases you will benefit from joining these programs almost immediately. You can receive an ink coupon in the mail and in some cases if you order through the manufacturers website you will receive a certain percentage off of each purchase you make.

Refill Cartridge Ink Coupon

For several years now a growing business model based on the ability to refill a used ink cartridge as a discounted rate has gained popularity due to the reduced prices that people usually pay for these refills. There are a couple of different factors that you must consider if you choose to use refilled ink cartridges. Probably the most important factor is if your printer is still under the manufacturer warranty or any other extended service agreement then using a refilled ink cartridge may void that agreement. The other main reason one should think carefully about using refills is that printer manufacturers spend a substantial amounts of money to make sure the prints and photos you print using their printers and ink look the very best. With ink refills you may or may not receive the same type of quality. That being said of you do decide to use ink refills there are many retails stores that specialize in this area and even they offer an ink coupon to help save you money.
